FlowGlow has an E27 base and works with compatible E27 light fixtures. The lamp is 20 cm tall, so make sure the fixture has enough space and suitable ventilation. FlowGlow looks best in an open or semi-open fixture where its animated surface remains visible. If you do not have one, the FlowGlow Base is a matching lamp holder.

No. FlowGlow works without a hub or bridge. You do not need a Hue Bridge, SmartThings, or any other additional hardware. Screw it in, switch it on, and get started.

The box contains FlowGlow, an IR remote with batteries, and a quick-start guide. No additional accessories are required for basic use.

FlowGlow is designed for 220–240 V AC at 50/60 Hz and for E27 light fixtures. It must not be used with 110–120 V power or in an E26 socket. The country selector and checkout show which destinations we currently serve.

You can control FlowGlow in three ways:

• IR remote: included in the box and ready to use without setup
• FlowGlow Studio app for iOS and Android: direct Bluetooth control for effects, colors, brightness, and speed
• Alexa and Google Home: optional voice control over WiFi and the cloud

You do not need an account to use the remote or local Bluetooth control.

No. The IR remote works entirely without WiFi, and the FlowGlow Studio app connects directly to the lamp over Bluetooth for local control. WiFi is needed only for optional online features such as Alexa, Google Home, remote access, automatic schedules, and the public Flow Library.

Use the remote to switch FlowGlow on and off, choose any of the 42 effects, and adjust color, brightness, and speed. The remote needs a clear line of sight to the lamp.

Yes. Alexa is one of FlowGlow's optional online features and requires WiFi and an account. Available voice commands depend on the currently released integration. The app and remote remain the most direct ways to make detailed changes to effects, colors, and speed.

Google Home is supported alongside Alexa. Both services require WiFi and the optional online features. Apple Home is not currently supported.

FlowGlow includes 42 effects across six categories: Fire, Nature, Cosmos, Light, Motion, and Play. Examples include Calm Fire, Aurora, Ocean, Equalizer, and Invaders. You can browse descriptions of all 42 on the Effects page.

Yes. A Flow combines an effect with selected colors or a palette, speed, and an optional response to music. In the FlowGlow Studio app, you can create and save your own Flows and share them with the community. The public Flow Library also lets you discover and download Flows made by others.

Yes. A built-in sensor detects music and other sounds in the room and can make any effect respond to them. You can adjust the sensitivity and strength of the response. Audio is neither recorded nor stored.

Firmware updates may include new effects and features. FlowGlow needs a WiFi connection to install updates. We do not promise a fixed number or release schedule for future updates.

Yes. Speed and brightness can be adjusted independently. Slower movement usually feels quieter and more restrained, while faster movement appears livelier and draws more attention.

The LEDs are updated 125 times per second. This creates soft movement and flowing transitions without visible steps. The Technology page explains how the refresh rate, color depth, and individually controlled LEDs shape the visible result.

FlowGlow works with 65,536 brightness levels, allowing colors to be graded very finely. Slow transitions and animations remain smooth and detailed, especially at low brightness.

Yes. FlowGlow has no fan or other moving parts and therefore operates silently in every mode.

The rated lifespan is 25,000 hours. Actual lifespan can be affected by factors including ambient temperature, ventilation, daily use, and the number of on-and-off cycles.

The IR remote and local Bluetooth connection require neither an account nor an internet connection. If you use optional online features such as Alexa, Google Home, remote access, automatic schedules, or the Flow Library, we process the data needed to provide those features. You can find more information in our privacy policy.

You can request deletion from within the FlowGlow Studio app or follow the steps on the account-deletion page. The page also explains what is deleted and which information may need to be retained for legal reasons.

Yes. The IR remote and local Bluetooth control work without an internet connection. WiFi is needed only for firmware updates, voice assistants, remote access, and automatic schedules that should run while the app is closed.

Shipping within the EU is free. Orders placed by 3:00 PM on business days ship the same day. Delivery usually takes 1–2 business days within Germany and to Austria, and 2–5 business days to other EU countries.

You can return FlowGlow free of charge within 30 days. Full details and conditions are available in the shop's cancellation and returns policy.

FlowGlow includes a two-year warranty. Product development and customer support are provided by FlowGlow Lighting GmbH in Germany.
